Red Snapper anglers are getting an extension to the Red Snapper season.
The season will now end at 12:01 a.m. on July 17.
According to the National Marine Fisheries Service’s Southeast office, the red snapper fishing effort was significantly reduced compared to this time last year. The bad weather in the Gulf of Mexico this season has added to the fact that the red snapper fishing effort is reduced compared to the fishing effort that was expected by the National Marine Fisheries Service’s Southeast office.
The National Marine Fisheries Service’s Southeast office has also indicated that the June landings data would be available in August. If it turns out that there could be any recreational quota remaining, he said there could be a short Fall season.
So make your plans to visit Dauphin Island Marina to start your Red Snapper fishing trip this weekend. We have all of your supplies and fuel. We are expecting to see you soon.
